Fresh off the momentum of their debut single Sunz of Wu and the electrifying energy of their Intro, Nairobi-based rap collective Sunz of Wu return with their most cinematic offering yet “HEPA” a gritty, high-stakes street anthem that unfolds like a crime film set to a soundtrack.

The word “ HEPA” is Swahili for run and the track wastes no time delivering on that energy. Opening with a chorus that drops listeners directly into a crime scene mid-action, walking through the meticulous planning of a heist, the heat of the moment it goes sideways, the chaos of a car chase, and the paranoid quiet of life on the run. It is storytelling at its sharpest: layered, visceral, and unmistakably Nairobi.

Across six verses and a commanding chorus, each member of Sunz of Wu inhabits a role in the unfolding narrative, from the witness shouting the warning to the fugitive fleeing, the accomplice watching his partner’s face trend on the news, and learning to live in the shadows. The result is a track that plays less like a rap song and more like a short film you can feel.

“HEPA” arrives as part of the collective’s ongoing rollout, building toward their forthcoming album: “Nothing New Under The Sun” (Swahili: “Hakuna Kitu New Chini Ya Jua”)
