Botswana Hip-Hop is producing some of the finest music on the African continent right now. With a wave of albums to drop throughout the year, the scene has never been more vibrant and exciting. Here are my 20 most anticipated albums from Botswana's thriving Hip-Hop community. 2026 is shaping up to be a landmark year for Botswana Hip-Hop. Botswana Hip-Hop is experiencing a golden era. These 20 albums represent not just individual artistic statements but a collective movement that's pushing the culture forward. From veterans like Zeus and Melo finally delivering long-awaited projects to newcomers like Tefo Bright making their mark, the diversity of voices and sounds is unprecedented.
I'm not going to pretend I haven't heard parts of some of these albums. The truth is, I have heard snippets via shared clips, studio sessions, and various work-in-progress material. One album in particular that I've heard in its entirety is 'Langane by Stretch, and all I can say is this: if you're dropping an album this year, you better come correct.
1. OneTake267 - 120 Days On The Block
OneTake's sophomore album remains one of the most sought-after gems in the Botswana Hip-Hop scene to date. This album has been waited for so much that it feels he’s about to Detox us. The Pressure is on for Cold Killah!! First teased in September 2024 through a cryptic social media message, the project has generated significant buzz among fans eager for new material. His debut album SONA dropped in 2022, meaning it's been four years of anticipation building toward this sophomore effort though he's kept busy with EPs and singles in between. Last year Take dropped “Days Before…” EP of which everyone assumed that the album was coming soon, and it is only just if he drops it in 2026. The EP did exceptionally well gaining recognition beyond Botswana boarders. The project is set to be directed by slxwburn, a long time collaborator who has produced some of OneTake's biggest hits. The chemistry between these two creatives has consistently delivered quality, making this reunion particularly exciting. Fans were also expecting a highly anticipated joint album with AbTheActivist called The Purge, which was slated for 2024 but has yet to materialize. With 120 Days On The Block, OneTake has the opportunity to cement his position as one of the country's premier voices in Hip-Hop.
2. KX Legit - To Lefatshe
Surprisingly, KX Legit hasn't released a full-length album yet. Many Botswana Hip-Hop fans assumed that Doom Room Suburbia was an album it wasn't. KX Legit has been gearing up for his official debut album since 2022, following his highly acclaimed and commercially successful EP that established him as a force to be reckoned with. The album, rumoured straight from the horse's mouth to contain 10 tracks, has been a work in progress with experimental sounds appearing across various EPs and collaborations with his peers. "Gopola Gae" which featured Veezo View, Bouncy and Andspaces on production served as the first single, signalling that listeners are in for something special. What sonic direction will the album take? According to Mdu Tha Party, KX embodies "Cultural Currency" a sound that bridges traditional Setswana influences with contemporary Hip-Hop production. This approach could define a new era for Botswana rap music. KX recently dropped an EP “Before Lefatshe” which is tone setter for what the album is going to sonically sound like. Please do not put KX in a musical box.
3. Melo - Ntshegeng
Melo also known as Botswana's Andre 3000 and the dopest rapper with no solo album is finally about to shed that last moniker. After nearly two decades in the game (starting around 2007), Melo is gearing up to release his debut solo album, a crowning achievement that feels long overdue. His footprints in Botswana Hip-Hop are well documented, particularly through his work with Magosi alongside Ruxion, with whom he released the Thuto le Thobo album in 2010. In a sense, this debut is 17 years in the making. Rumour has it the album is named Ntshegeng after his late mother, whose life was tragically cut short due to domestic violence a deeply personal tribute that adds emotional weight to the project. Melo has been on an absolute rapping spree lately, and many industry peers feel he's finally reached his creative prime. Millennials in particular are anticipating this album as a crowning moment for a "GOAT" who never had a solo project. There's been talk that Melo might drop one album and retire, but hopefully that's not the case the game needs his voice. My Predicted features include Ruxion (Magosi reunited – This feature would feed families and finally seeing them together again with new music) and maybe Scar and Production credits from Fella, Soundsosick Westbrook and MVRTIN are not farfetched. Or is it called “Age Appropriate”.
4. Frost Legato - ALBUM
Frost Legato is known for taking 3-4 year breaks between albums, and it's now been close to five years since his sophomore effort L.O.S.T. (Loved Ones Stay Together). He's arguably the best album curator in Botswana Hip-Hop, consistently delivering cohesive bodies of work that flow seamlessly from track to track. Frost began teasing this particular album in late 2024. In 2026, he dropped the freestyle "Doncic," making it clear that it wasn't an official single but rather something to hold fans over before the real campaign began. A few weeks later, he released his first official single, "Aluta Continua" featuring Jordan MoOzy, signalling that the album rollout is officially underway. Expectations are sky-high for what could be another master class in album construction.
5. Tefo Bright - [TBA]
Tefo Bright is perhaps the most interesting prospect to emerge in recent years, earning co-signs from OGs including Zeus, Mdu Tha Party, and numerous other Hip-Hop veterans. He released his debut single "Gone - Freestyle" in 2024, and few could have predicted he'd become one of the highlights of Botswana Hip-Hop in 2026. Right out the gate, he released "Tlhagiso," an ode to Dramaboi's "Thari Ya Sechaba," which quickly generated the buzz he needed. He followed up with "Lefika," which also performed exceptionally well. While the album name hasn't been revealed yet, anticipation is building around what this project will deliver. Da QuTness is reportedly the head of creative direction, and confirmed features include Abuti Ghost, Hakeem Music, and Stress Makhatini among others. With this level of talent involved and Tefo's proven ability to craft compelling music, this debut album could be a game-changer.
6. O-Star - Honour The Gift
O-Star's debut album “African As F**k”was arguably the best Hip-Hop project from a Botswana rapper that meaningfully engaged with Africa's socio-economic realities of artists (and industry creators) while embracing Afrocentrism. Now, after three years in a relative hiatus, O-Star is gearing up for his sophomore album, a project highly anticipated by Botswana Hip-Hop purists. Hailed the legendary Zeus that he is one rapper who can rap with anyone anywhere in the world, he's been teasing work on the new album since early last year and has indicated he's taking a directly opposite direction from his debut. He's hinted that this body of work will feature more 808s than its predecessor, suggesting a shift toward harder hitting production while maintaining the intellectual depth that made his first album so compelling. The balance between commercial appeal and artistic integrity will be fascinating to witness.
7. Hippy Bambino - Republic of Karma Deluxe
Immediately after dropping his debut album in August 2024, Hippy Bambino sent out invitations to rappers as he geared up to work on the deluxe edition. The deluxe is set to include songs that didn't make the initial album along with tracks created right after its release. Hippy has indicated that he's focused on dropping "hits" and making music that the general masses can enjoy and relate to. This approach shows an artist who understands his audience and isn't afraid to prioritize accessibility alongside artistry. The deluxe format allows him to experiment further while giving fans more of what they loved about the original. Working with Fella only makes this monumental as Fella is known to “give” artists hits. We have been waiting for this album which was originally set to drop in February 2025, we can only guess the wait has been coupled with more hits into the “Tupperware”. The deluxe is set to have 10 songs.

8. euno. - Soul Over Ego
In September 2024, just a few months after his debut album Stars Aligned, euno. posted on social media that he'd already started working on a new project the Life Time – EP which was supposed to drop sooner. By November, the name had changed as he indicated he'd redirected his efforts toward working on a full album instead. The album's release date hasn't been confirmed yet, but he's dropped one singles of the album "Perfect" featuring Dojie-T early last year. He was simultaneously working on a Mixtape with Mox Zilla off which they dropped "Dingalo" the lead single to their Mixtape that remains anon. Both the songs he dropped last produced by Tay Boz and the tracks showcase euno.'s ability to craft introspective, emotionally resonant Hip-Hop. The title Soul Over Ego suggests a project centered on authenticity and personal growth, themes that resonate deeply in today's Hip-Hop landscape. The usual suspects when it comes to features are Mox Zilla, Rita Christopher and Tay Boz, the latter being on production with Cams Beats.
9. Apexxxx - I AM Culture
When you hear "Apexxxx," the first thing that probably comes to mind is "Xo Le Xo." Although he doesn't consider Hustler's Etiquette, released back in 2023, his debut album but rather a lengthy EP building toward his first official debut I AM CULTURE, he proved that Apeblud was here to stay. The project reached position 2 behind only AKA's Mass Country on release week and achieved the highest album ranking of any Botswana Hip-Hop album in 2023. I AM CULTURE is set to separate Apexxxx from his peers. He's mentioned multiple times that the music he's bringing forth is unorthodox expect experimental sounds, bold production choices, and a refusal to be boxed into any single style. This is an artist pushing boundaries and redefining what Botswana Hip-Hop can sound like. Apeman and Protocol Killic are back in the lab together as they teamed together for their last year’s release “FAR FROM MARS” which featured SketchThaHoodie early last ear.
10. 84gotyouinyourfeelings._ - The gods must be crazy
84 sounds like 84—simple as that. It's remarkable how he's managed to maintain this sonic signature for well over seven years now. It's been six years since his debut EP Achieves, and getting a full album from this craftsman would be paramount for Botswana Hip-Hop. Since 2023, he's been on an incredible run, dropping critically acclaimed singles that have not only showcased his range but also illuminated a path for artists who come after him. With collaborations alongside Apexxxx, Ascension Plea, Gaborone Fancy, and many others, it's been amazing to witness his evolution. This album will be monumental, expanding upon his already impressive catalogue and cementing his place as one of the scene's most consistent and innovative voices.
11. Ohmz The Don - Feel The Dream 3
Ohmz is gearing up to finally close the trilogy. After nine years since the first Feel The Dream, we're about to "piss off the neighbours who can't hang with us." After 3 years of not dropping any project since “Feel The Dream 2” in 2023 the Bandleng native is set to release his album in the second quarter of the year, executively produced by Soundsosick Westbrook. Kgosi has released 2 songs since then a Westbrook produced “Taba Tsaago” featuring KX Legit, Shay267 and “Last Time” featuring Ban-T and Shay267 ( These 2 need to give an EP damn ) produced by KDub. Ohmz is never shy about going all out on his projects, delivering a wide range in both delivery and sound. The Feel The Dream series has documented his evolution as an artist, and this final chapter promises to be his most ambitious yet. The With Westbrook at the production wheel, expect sonic excellence alongside Ohmz's characteristically bold performances.
12. Tay Boz - SE4SONS
It's been almost four years since Tay Boz, the RaProducer dropped his last effort, Kites & Chimneys, which saw him break through and collaborate with artists outside his usual musical range, creating a cohesive album in the process. Late in 2024, Tay teased a single from the album, mentioning that he was bringing bangers and hits for this next body of work. The album title is stylized with a "4" instead of an "A" to indicate the four seasons of climatic conditions suggesting thematic depth and sonic variety. This is one of the most anticipated albums, especially after he dropped the highly recommended Tay Zilla with Mox, a collaborative album in 2024 that showcased his versatility and chemistry with other top-tier artists. Tay Boz has been re-releasing all his previous discography into the digital streaming platforms (DSPs). It’s not farfetched to expect features from euno. , Mox Zilla and Rita Christopher.
13. Mox Zilla - BOTSWAKA
Mox Zilla's first official single came in 2021 with "Motasinti." The years since have been filled with singles, establishing the Motswako MC as one of the best who can maintain a similar rhyme scheme without sounding repetitive or boring. Last year he spent the year teasing the album’s cuts including “Precision” and a single “Dingalo” with euno. Off their unreleased joint Mixtape. He's geared up for the album release with several singles already dropped this year: "Botshelo Jwa Monana" and "Gorilla Thoughts." To double down on the momentum, he also released a video for "Wa Ba Bona" featuring the legendary HT Tautona, which serves as the third single from his debut album. BOTSWAKA represents not just a debut but a statement this is Mox Zilla's formal introduction as an album artist, and all signs point to something special. Expected features include Tay Boz, euno. , Rita Christopher and HT Tautona.
14. Stretchaleezy on a Hype Train - 'Langane.
This album will serve generations, and serves as Stretch's sophomore album and official debut Hip-Hop album (Nzala is allegedly a mixtape, but what can we say?). The album explores ideas of Afrocentrism and follows a storyline throughout, finally giving us a chance to see Stretch through his own eyes rather than through features and collaborations. The first single "Hooray" which was first premiered at Perfect Noise in June 2023 and features the legendary Scar, Zeus, and Nikky Dymondz. In his own words, Stretch was intentional with every single detail of the album, which is why he demands everyone listen to it in chronological order this is a complete artistic vision, not just a collection of songs. The album also features spacerover, Selebs, Chubbito, Mdu, and ATI (RIP) among many others. Expect a deeply personal and culturally grounded project which samples/interpolates the gOLDEN days.
15. WINGZ - Made
WINGZ recently announced his comeback after four years since his last album, Legend in the Making in 2022. That project was well-received in commercial Botswana Hip-Hop spaces, making him a regular performer at Perfect Noise events. During that period, he released an EP “From the Bedroom to Gab” with TRVP MORPHEOUS and “Down in the 4” as AMLY (with TRVP MORPHEOUS & KIZITO). WINGZ indicated he's working on an EP with briann Bc while also developing his sophomore album Made, which is set to drop in the latter half of the year. He recently released his first single, "Eish," from the album. The four-year gap suggests careful consideration and artistic growth, and fans are eager to hear how WINGZ has evolved since his last full-length offering.
16. Zeus - War & Peace: Disc 2: Peace
After dropping Disc 1: War in December 2023 and Tswana Renaissance Art with Nomadic in early January 2026, Zeus was set to drop the second disc soon after and kept teasing the album immediately following those releases. He finally dropped a single, "We Pray," for free on his social media platforms. The album is set to drop sometime this year. Zeus has teased on X (formerly Twitter) that he's done with war, implying we're moving into the peace side of this double-disc concept. Given Zeus's legendary status in Botswana Hip-Hop, this project carries immense weight and could serve as a defining statement in his already impressive catalogue.
17. Soundsosick Westbrook - Quietly Inscrutable
The prolific producer behind some of the best hits we've heard in the last half-decade, Westbrook is set to announce his breakthrough season with an album that's been in the works for over a year. Recently featured on Ban-T's "They Wanna Know," which became an instant hit, and currently executive producing Ohmz's album, it's no surprise this project is highly sought after. The album will feature AbTheActivist, Teezy, and many others. A producer stepping out from behind the boards to craft their own album is always intriguing, especially when they've already proven their ability to create hits for others. Expect a master class in production and curation.

18. Ash Static - THE UNUSUAL
Ash Static has been dropping multiple singles annually since 2021 but hasn't blessed us with even a mixtape until now. This year, all that is set to change as she hinted at dropping a 3-pack EP in late January before gearing up for her debut album later in the year. The album, which has been in the works for over two years, is produced by Kri.zzly and Johnson, who have been her primary collaborators for years. The proclaimed Botswana Queen of Trap, Ash Static is not your usual rapper she holds a candid and unapologetic voice when addressing usually uncomfortable topics. THE UNUSUAL promises to showcase her unique perspective and fearless approach to storytelling.
19. Solo Otto - REVELLER
After Grammy recognition and working with some of the biggest names in the music industry worldwide Doechii, Summer Walker, and Ben Reilly among others Solo is finally working on his album. The unorthodox sound he typically explores is all over the album and sets him apart from being just another Hip-Hop producer with 808s. The album claims to explore different sounds that have yet to make waves within the Botswana music space. Featuring K. Forest, Keeme, and many others, REVELLER could represent a sonic breakthrough not just for Solo Otto but for the entire Botswana music scene. His international experience and unique ear for production make this one of the year's most intriguing releases.
20. BORUS - [TBA]
Big Money has been in hiatus for over a year since releasing his highly successful Top Boy - EP in 2024. The EP was well-received and even generated performance opportunities from its success. Although he maintained a low profile in 2026, he did feature on Ascension Plea's album on a song called "Supposed to Do." The album is set to be highly energetic, and BORUS sent a cryptic message on Instagram indicating that he's in "Prime Lil Wayne Mode." The album is set to feature Loverboii and several frequent collaborators. If BORUS is channelling the energy and creativity of Wayne at his peak, we're in for something special. The Album Title MVP?? I guess, but he sure promises to one come November.
21. KIZITO - "NXXXA, I'M WHOLESOME!"
ZITO has been on a long hiatus and has teased a young come back, It has been like 4 years now since “THE BLUE EYE TAPE”. His hiayus was coupled by a few records with fAMLY members WINGZ and TRVP MORPHEOUS, including an EP they dropped in the fall of 2024. ZITO did indicate working on an EP together with album which might see the light in the first half of the year. The album is set to take a differen route from his recent work with the fAMLY seeing it route into the self introspection route and adopting a soulful nature that ZI is aiming to explore this time around.
22. BAN-T - [Title TBA]
Tiddy, the banger maker, seems to be back in full force. He last dropped an album in August 2024 Tiddy's Revenge, which was surprisingly not as dark as you would assume from the title. He's teased an untitled snippet on his social media platforms with annotations about an album set to drop soon. With well over a year and a half since his previous offering, he dropped a single this past year featuring RockaFella Uni, Soundsosick Westbrook, and his frequent collaborator Veezo View. He also appeared on Balaclava's "Azul" and ObvdO's "BIG SUMMER TIME CHOP," which dropped last year and has been generating buzz ever since. BAN-T has a proven track record of creating infectious, high-energy tracks, and with this much time to craft his next project, expectations are understandably high. The collaborations he's been involved with suggest he's been actively experimenting with different sounds and styles, which could make this next album his most versatile yet.
23. VILLE JAHKOUR - The Journey
Ville has been dropping multiple projects a year since 2023, it's become his norm. Last year was his weakest output by his standards, only dropping one EP and a follow-up album with Derrick Leni for DI GUTEZ ASE MDLALO, which dropped in late 2024 and featured their well-received song "PIPE DOWN." The Wu-Tang Clan-heavily influenced Ville teased on social media with the caption: "The Journey by Ville Jahkour." When an artist who typically releases multiple projects a year takes time to craft something specific, it often signals heightened artistic ambition. The title The Journey suggests introspection and narrative depth expect Ville to take listeners through his evolution as both an artist and individual.
25. Apexxxx & Scxrmadeit - Strata Say He Did It
This rapper-producer project has been in the works for over a year now and is said to arrive before the much-anticipated solo album from Apeman. Their first single from the album, "44 Bars (Freestyle)," was released 11 months ago, and there hasn't been much information about the project except for confirmation from both artists in July 2026, giving the green light. The chemistry between a skilled rapper and a producer who understands their vision can create magic, and all early indications suggest Strata Say He Did It will showcase this dynamic duo at its finest.
25. G-FUEGO - [Title TBA]
Mr. HowCanSheNot seems to be back, and this time around, he's here to stay for a while. In December 2024, when OneTake dropped "Statement 3" and name-dropped G-Fuego (formerly known as T-Flame), Fuego responded with a diss track of his own titled "Set The Record," which sparked a series of back-and-forth exchanges between the two emcees. What appeared to be just another rap beef statement actually ignited a full comeback, and Fuego has alluded that it was all part of his master plan to return to music this year after successfully opening his SAGA Store. He's set to drop his debut album this year though I've lost count of how many times this man has reworked this project. He's linked up with frequent producer collaborators Soundsosick Westbrook and MBOnTheBeat, a dream team combination that promises high-quality production. His time away from music wasn't completely silent, either. He featured on a 1606WAV song alongside Jack Diasoh and delivered a memorable Alignment Challenge Freestyle hosted by Soundsosick Westbrook. The beef with OneTake, whether genuine or strategic, has reignited interest in G-Fuego's career at the perfect moment. There's something compelling about an artist who steps away to build a business, then returns to music with renewed focus and purpose but question now is whether the album will live up to the years of anticipation and multiple reworks.
26. AbTheActivist - [Title TBA]
After a long hiatus, Ab might finally be back. It's remarkable that Ab keeps showing up on people's lists of the best rappers out now despite not having dropped a full album since Escapism in 2023 almost two and a half years ago. The hiatus wasn't completely silent, though. He dropped four singles during that time: "Fresh Page," "Rugged Raw" (with the legendary Zeus), "Call of Duty," "Heist," and "The Purge" with OneTake267, which will appear on their upcoming collaborative project that has yet to receive a release date. Just today, as I was wrapping up this list, Ab coincidentally posted a promo video containing an encrypted message: "Bro, when are you dropping..." The video featured music that sounded like an intro, produced by Soundsosick Westbrook (I've talked about this guy so much in this article — he's everywhere). The timing feels intentional, and the cinematic quality of the teaser suggests Ab is preparing to make a statement with his return. What makes Ab's situation particularly interesting is how he's maintained relevance and critical acclaim despite limited output. That speaks to both the quality of his previous work and the impact of his carefully selected features and singles.
While the 26 albums listed above are confirmed projects set to drop this year, there are numerous other artists whose albums would be incredibly welcome additions to the Botswana Hip-Hop landscape. These artists have either been teasing projects, building anticipation through singles and features, or simply deserve their moment in the spotlight with full-length offerings. I know you expect me to give a typical answer on a need for a Ozi F Teddy, Veezo View or William Last LP, sike!!
briann Bc deserves a full LP, not just another EP. His work has consistently shown he has the depth and range to sustain a complete album experience, and fans have been waiting to see him stretch out across a longer format.
A Sebaga full Hip-Hop project would be beautiful. Known for her versatility, a focused Hip-Hop album from Sebaga could showcase her technical abilities and storytelling prowess in ways we haven't fully seen yet.
Megokgo, both as a collective and as individual solo artists, Chubbito, Touch Motswak’Tswak, Jay Dot and Konkrete represent some of the most exciting voices in the scene, being in the game for this long and staying sharp. Whether they drop a group project or solo efforts from each member, their creative energy and chemistry they bring would elevate the year's releases significantly.
Jack Diasoh finally getting a debut album would mean everything. He's been a consistent presence through features and collaborations, proving his ability time and again. A solo debut would allow him to fully establish his artistic identity and vision without compromise.
KayTee, after his successful run with Jack Diasoh, deserves his own individual body of work. The collaborative chemistry was undeniable, but hearing KayTee's voice independently across an entire project would reveal new dimensions of his artistry.
Taurin has been building momentum steadily, and a debut album would capitalize on the growing buzz around his name. The timing feels right for him to make a definitive statement.
Selebs has shown flashes of brilliance in features especially with Hippy Bambino. A full project would give her the canvas to paint a complete picture of his artistic vision and cement her place in the conversation.
Cornerstone-The MC carries the weight of tradition while pushing boundaries—a full LP would be a master class in balancing respect for Hip-Hop's foundations with forward-thinking innovation.
SHVE BEATZ delivering a full LP would be significant for the producer community. Producers stepping out from behind the boards to showcase their complete artistic vision often create some of the most interesting albums in Hip-Hop, and SHVE has the talent to join that lineage.
HOODSTARZ –To get a Hood… Know what never mind,
